Tameka is a marketing and business development strategist and educator with nearly a decade of experience in the technology industry. She is currently working as Assistant Vice President of Global Marketing for the High-Tech and Manufacturing division of Genpact. Tameka is also a professor of Marketing Management at St. John’s University, and a public speaker who has participated in conferences and thought leadership events in various cities within North America, Africa, and Europe. Daina Casling serves as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Office of Aeolus Capital Management Ltd., a leading ILS manager. Prior to joining Aeolus, Ms. Casling was Vice President and Legal Counsel at a large publically traded, Bermuda-based reinsurer when she served in a number of roles, most recently as primary counsel to the company’s ILS team. Prior to that, she was an associate at Conyers Dill & Pearman and a trainee at the firm Kendall Freeman in London. She was named as one of the Influential Women in Global Reinsurance & ILS in 2017 and serves as a member of the Bermuda Immigration Board. She received her B.A. (Hons) from Holy Cross College and her LLB (Hons) from City University.
Dr. Peets Talbot

Dr. Peets Talbot is a co-founder and medical director of Ocean Rock Wellness. She became passionate about treating the root cause of illness after seeing patients suffer with unexpected or premature medical complications. She believes that to improve one’s health you have to go beyond conventional therapies. Dr. Peets Talbot was the first physician in Bermuda to be trained in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Using a Functional Medicine approach, she is helping people achieve and maintain their optimal health, from birth to beyond. She believes that a healthcare approach that recognizes that healthy living is a balance between wellness of the mind, body and spirit is the key. Born in Bermuda, Rebecca went to Gilbert Institute before finishing school in the UK. She was working in London for global advertising agency Ogilvy before returning home in 2012. Juggling two jobs to finance the business, Rebecca launched TABS on Bermuda Day 2013. Loved for its bright colours and excellent fit, TABS stands for The Authentic Bermuda Shorts. Rebecca Singleton has modernized this famous garment and after success online and in leading retailors, TABS opened its flagship store in Bermuda in 2016. In 2017, TABS was a proud official licensee of the America’s Cup and by 2018 TABS was selling in select boutiques across east coast USA down to the Caribbean. Rebecca was recognised as one of the 10 most fascinating people of Bermuda in 2015 and awarded best entrepreneur in Bermuda for 2016. TABS won a Best of Bermuda award for four consecutive years as well as international recognition and featured in The New York Times, GQ, Travel & Leisure and more.
Entrepreneur & Owner – Dangelini’s Cafe
Shalini Johnstone, born and raised in Bermuda, started her coffee journey after graduating from CedarBridge Academy in 2006. Her love for coffee was cultivated at a young age, and she always loved the idea of working with people and being a part of the hospitality industry.
After having a taste of working in a small coffeeshop, the opportunity arose for her to be a partner in her own company in 2009. Although becoming an entrepreneur, was never a part of Shalini’s plan, Dangelini’s Cafe (which is an amalgamation of the 3 partners names) was born. 10 years later, “The Accidental Entrepreneur” (as she calls herself) has a well-known business, which has multiple Best of Bermuda and Product and Service Awards, long time employees and what some would say…the best coffee in Bermuda.
Alison Corday Young
Business Woman & Designer
Alison Corday Young is a business woman and designer who grew up outside of Philadelphia, PA, with a Bermudian father and American mother. In 1999, in her junior year of college, she started a company making custom handbags out of vintage fabrics with a friend. These evolved into stylish therapeutic bags that had patent pending magnetic technology that helped to reduce stress on the mind and body. A couple years after graduating, Alison moved back to her island home of Bermuda to work for Tucker’s Point Club and Hotel. As the Director of Retail, she developed their early shops, including the lobby boutique Regali. She was involved in all aspects of purchasing, branding and developing merchandise for the luxury property, including apparel, gifts and spa product. Now, working with her husband John, Alison is able to put all her passions – style, art, wellness and hospitality – together to make The Ledgelets Cottage Colony experience island-cool and authentic.

Founder of Strata-G, Anna Laura’s early days in advertising and marketing began in the big apple where she worked alongside some of the top worldwide agencies such as Ogilvy, DDB Worldwide & McCann Ericksen. She returned home and further honed her skills as a Marketing Director for a local reinsurance company before founding Strata-G in 2006. At Strata-G, she is the fierce leader and the crucial connector between business and creativity. Anna Laura always has her finger on the pulse. Her pace is fast and her mission is to make work challenging but fun, interesting and rewarding for all. Described as driven, Anna Laura is an avid long-distance runner. She has run over 10 marathons and has a goal of running a marathon in every continent. She says that many of her creative ideas come to her when she goes out for a long run.

Joanna Stapff is a Bermudian artist, owner of 1609 Design, jewellery designer, event Guru and upcoming DJ. She strives to be part of the Golden Era of Young Entrepenuers booming in Bermuda, changing the market and strengthening the island’s tourism product. Joanna attended Cheltenham College and University of Miami, where she refined her raw artistic talents and studied Advertising + Marketing. Suzanne K. J. Khan (aka Sue) is a multi-passionate entrepreneur, mentor + motivational speaker. Her professional career began as an Analyst at an investment manager start-up in Bermuda. DeShae’s experience in marketing and development has been broad and varied. DeShae graduated with a double major (Bachelor of Professional Writing/ Bachelor of Communication Studies) from York University and with a Post Graduate Certificate in Sports and Event Marketing from George Brown College. Her career began as the event coordinator at the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust, where she was then promoted to the marketing manager responsible for the $40M capital campaign, Why it Matters, in support of the hospital’s new acute care wing. After the completion of the hospital, DeShae worked in business development at Freisenbruch-Meyer Group, before her current role as Client Services and Business Development Manager at Travel Edge. Alongside her professional career, DeShae has continued to develop and refine her innate talent for logistics, event management, systems, team building, sales and marketing by gaining valuable experience in many business contexts. She operated a small consulting agency, Xperience, where creativity, lateral thinking, attention to detail along with focus and clarity are just some of the qualities she contributed to her clients, such as Pink Lotus Hair and Skin Products, Treats candy store, and the Bermuda Fashion Festival. She also produced events such as Gemini Dream Weekend, LIV BDA, and most recently Rum Punch Brunch Bermuda. As DeShae and her talented team prepare for their third year of successful brunch events in Bermuda and New York, DeShae will also be introducing an evening dinner series called, Dinner Noire, coming Fall 2020.
Fashion & Brand Strategy Consultant
Melissa Leach is a Fashion and Brand Strategy Consultant who recently relocated to Bermuda from London. Having been involved in Fashion from a young age as a model, she pursued her interest in the industry by obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Business at University as well as a Post Graduate Degree in Fashion from the London College of Fashion. After completing her studies, Melissa worked with a subsidiary of the British Fashion Council promoting young British accessory designers internationally. She then moved to Burberry headquarters where she worked for several years in senior level management in international wholesale and was involved in developing strategy for one of Burberry’s key growth initiatives at that time. Melissa was then recruited by the President of Jimmy Choo to consult for the brand to write a global business strategy for them on a similar thread. Drawing from her professional experience in the fashion industry and personal experience as a melanoma skin cancer survivor, Melissa has more recently launched her own fashion line, Factor. Owner & Creative Director – Urban Cottage
Nicole Golden is the owner and creative Director of Urban Cottage. Urban Cottage is a lifestyle concept store featuring a curated collection of apparel, gifts, home decor and works by local artisans.
Urban Cottage first started out as a pop up shop in Wellbottom which lasted for 85 days while getting recognized by Forbes magazine as a place to shop while in Bermuda.
With that article in Forbes Nicole knew it was time to move the business and found a space on Front Street in the city of Hamilton were Urban Cottage remains today in its fifth year of business. Nicole has carefully crafted her niche. Every item she carries in the store evokes her personal style, earthy, edgy, eco-conscious and woman-positive. Inside Urban Cottage the interiors are equally vintage and modern with just a touch of the eclectic tossed in. Urban Cottage’s overall aesthetic has been resonating with locals and visitors alike. To date Ms. Golden and Urban Cottage have been featured in Forbes, Vanity Fair, New York Times, AFAR and Coastal Living magazine to name a few, as well as features on TV shows NBC 1st Look and short clips featured in taxi cabs in New York and Chicago.
Serial Entrepreneur & Blogger
Tori Kayla is a widely recognized & nominated serial entrepreneur. She began her entrepreneurial journey in 2015 as a fashion/lifestyle blogger influencing some 30K creatives through her own blog & former blog community, Black Bloggers United. Over the years, Tori had the privilege of speaking at countless events including Blogalicious, Black Tech Week’s Office Hours, the Black Public Relations Society of Philadelphia’s Power PR Conference and more. She managed her creative world outside of being a full time worker in corporate America until 2019. That year she realized she was half invested in entrepreneurship & half committed to the 9 to 5 life. Feeling strained for finding her happiness, she quit her job & has since flourished as an entrepreneur. She sustained her lifestyle by becoming a successful Virtual Assistant & Content Creator helping minority-owned business owners across America. Christina Sgobba has been in the marketing and design industry for over 15 years and her career has taken her from Atlanta to New York City and has now found herself in Bermuda. Her passion lies in the creative sector and after discovering a need for innovative, approachable and affordable design solutions, Christina opened Lemoncello Design, a studio that focuses on branding, event suites and product development. A few weeks after establishing the business (April 2019), Christina was selected to be one of the first entrepreneurs in the Ignite Bermuda program. While Lemocello Design is still an infant in terms of its business lifespan, the studio has already had the privilege to work with many long-standing and reputable companies as well as new and upcoming start-ups, all of whom have tasked Lemoncello Design with the same goal: to create something memorable and impactful.
Pat Phillip-Fairn served as Chief Product & Experiences Development Officer at the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) from 2014 – 2019. Her leadership roles have covered major aspects of Bermuda’s economy: tourism, international business, financial regulation, including as a former CEO of the Bermuda International Business Association.
She joined the BTA after serving as Deputy Director of Corporate Governance and Communications at the Bermuda Monetary Authority. In her role at the BTA she created and extended opportunities for local entrepreneurs, as part of developing a new wave of Bermuda tourism experiences for a younger generation of travellers. She also collaborated with organisations such as the BEDC to support accomplishing that goal.
In culinary, performing arts and heritage, Ms Phillip-Fairn and her team worked to infuse a deeper sense of culture into visitors’ Bermuda experience. Ensuring experiences were authentic and sustainable was a key theme, while increasing visitor spending and helping boost Bermuda’s economy. She also worked to build Bermuda as a sports tourism destination, promoting and launching existing and new events, while establishing a pre-season training initiative attracting visiting sports teams. This work culminated in Bermuda’s successful bid to host the ITU World Triathlon.
Now entering a new life phase balancing consulting with family life, she retains a keen interest in entrepreneurship, strategic communications and business development.
Selange is Head Designer and President of Dasfete, a creative event company based in Bermuda. She is also co-founder of the environmental group Groundswell which is best known for their conservation efforts though the creation of the Groundswell Lionfish Tournament (the first of its kind in the world). Selange is also a part owner and brand director for Bermuda’s newest cocktail bar, The Birdcage, which uses local and wild foraged ingredients.
Selange started her creative career as a certified Interior Designer specializing in environmental and sustainable design. After a career with a respected International Architectural firm, she joined the Events and Marketing world with a Reinsurance Company in 2005. Selange has built up a tremendous reputation in Bermuda and overseas for delivering exceptionally creative and one of a kind events. She is known for her unique take on a creative brief, sourcing components of an event so that they tell her client’s story, curating every aspect of a guests experience and giving all her events bespoke individual treatment.
Selange has a wanderlust that leads her to design and find one of a kind pieces specific to her clients. The details matter to her, it’s what makes her love her job. She also feels a responsibility to enrich the places where she works by involving the artistic /creative community and giving back where she can with the charities she believes in. It’s because of this drive, Selange has acquired numerous corporate and private clients, including Louis Vuitton, Revolve, AFAR Magazine, Conde Nast and Microsoft and her work has been featured in international publications like Vogue, Style Me Pretty, The Venue Report, Bizbash and soon to be featured in Modern Luxury Weddings (Yay!) Jennifer Turini Ysseldyke
Jennifer Turini Ysseldyke got her entrepreneurial debut in the digital marketing and coding industries, launching her first full-service digital marketing, web design, and cyber security company at the age of 20.
While she still remains passionate about the tech sector, she switched gears three years ago when she moved back to Bermuda to pursue a career in tourism and hospitality. Jennifer teamed up with Beach Boys Limited (Tobacco Bay/Clearwater) as the Programming and Operations Manager, where she has been refining her knowledge of beach economies and the tourism industry.
This year, Jennifer, along with seven local Bermudian entrepreneurs, was named as one of the new owners of Snorkel Park Beach. Additionally, it was announced by Skyport that her joint venture company, Bermuda Travel Concessions, won the bid for the complete food and beverage operations at the new L.F. Wade International Airport. Always one to continue growing, learning, and diversifying, Jennifer constantly looks for new business opportunities and collaborations that highlight the best of Bermuda and Bermudian talent.
Entrepreneur, Business Owner & Mentor
Born into a family of entrepreneurs, Sancha Durham began working with her father when she was 13 years old. He owned and operated one of Bermuda’s top party boats, the MV Bermuda Longtail, and her tasks were simple: helping with snorkel tours, cleaning and taking tickets. But she had bigger ideas.
Once suggesting to her dad that she host her own parties for teens, the idea took off, and events were held every summer until her family sold the boat.
From that first sold-out summer, Sancha has built a career that has seen her produce multi-million dollar concerts and creates trend-setting businesses from the ground up.
From 2006-2009, she helped produce Bermuda’s annual music festival, which featured international acts including Beyonce, Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Quincy Jones. In her third year, she partnered with Angela Simmons for an education component of the festival. Sancha was already known for her style, and when she saw the island’s response to Simmons’ new shoe line, decided to open The Garage Boutique with Pastry shoes as a unique offering on the island.
The same year, she took an empty space next door to her store and brought a NYC-style express nail salon concept to Bermuda with NailBar, offering affordable manicures, pedicures, and other beauty services.
Sancha capitalized on the popularity of the movie ‘Drumline’ by hosting Bermuda’s first marching band events in 2008 and 2012, bringing a total of 3 bands with some 400 members to Bermuda to entertain over 10,000 people each event.
Ms. Delight Morris is a Managing Partner at the Orange Bay Co. a local consignment shop which opened in 2009. Before that she held positions in many well-known local businesses such as BELCO, HSBC and The Bank of Butterfield.
She received her associates in Business Administration and Management from the Bermuda College and then went on to get her bachelor’s degree from Temple University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
She received her Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Baruch College and in 2018 completed an Executive Advanced Management Program with the Wharton School.
Public Relations + Brand Development Specialist
Zina has taken a circuitous journey to the world of brand development and public relations, starting with her role bringing to market luxury goods boutique, Gucci Bermuda as General Manager and buyer in the late-90’s. Her work took her to the fashion meccas of New York and Milan where she saw first-hand the power of meticulously engineered branding as demonstrated specifically through the work of Tom Ford at the time.
Her career took a turn into destination marketing as Zina proudly represented Bermuda as a Business Development Manager for the Bermuda Department of Tourism’s New York Office. She worked hand in hand with New York’s dame of public relations, Lou Hammond who worked as the department’s external publicity chief. She returned to Bermuda and worked at the Bermuda Broadcasting Company where she co-produced and co-hosted an original entertainment/lifestyle tv programme, Bermuda Now! A short while later, she moved to Jamaica and discovered a robust world of marketing and public relations.
She joined the island’s leading advertising agency and represented key names in Jamaica and the Caribbean diaspora including Scotiabank, Microsoft, Adidas, Grace Kennedy, Western Union, LASCO Moneygram and more. Zina returned to Bermuda in 2015 and joined forces with marketing guru, advertising dynamo and social media expert, Nikki Fagan to create the Brand Lion and lead the publicity arm.
The boutique consultancy provides PR, brand development, advertising and strategic marketing advice to a small number of clients including Bermuda Security Group, Security Associates, Polaris Holding Company, East End Asphalt, Abacus Limited and more.
Miranda Conway is a mother of three and the Founder and Creative Director of Luxury Gifts Bermuda Ltd. Luxury Gifts Bermuda was established in 2012 as an online gift boutique and personal shopping service.
The compnay has grown into one of Bermuda’s premier resort and fashion retail companies owning and operating multiple retail stores on two of Bermuda’s finest resort properties, Hamilton Princess Hotel and Rosewood Bermuda.
Alison holds a senior management position at the Swan Group., her family owned commercial real-state development and management companies and is the CEO and Co-founder of Winnow, a digital travel platform.
Previously, Alison was a filmmaker living in LA. She wrote “Nothing Like The Holidays” starring Debra Messing and John Leguizamo. Alison has an MFA in Filmmaking from New York University and a MA in Real Estate Development from the University Of Southern California.
